How do I see my student’s grades?

 

Schoology is the learning management system (LMS) that we use at Cathedral Catholic. By definition, a learning management system is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of educational courses or training programs.

Schoology does a wonderful job of supporting collaboration between students and with teachers. It also allows parents the ability to monitor their student’s progress on a daily basis if desired.

Your parent account is created by Cathedral Catholic High School. You will receive an email with your unique password.

How to Use Schoology

You can access Schoology by going to http://app.schoology.com or through the link on the Cathedral Catholic website on the Parent menu option, or the Resources section in the footer.

You will login using your email address and the password provided.

How to Change Your Password

The password created for you is a system-generated, unique password. You do have the ability to change your password if you choose.

Steps to changing your password:

  1. Login with the credentials you were given.
  2. Notice in the upper right corner if you see your name or your student’s.
  3. If you see your child’s name, please click the drop down arrow in the upper right corner and choose your name. This switches to your account.
  4. Then click the dropdown menu again.
  5. Choose Account Settings.
  6. Scroll down to the Account Password section.
  7. Click the link to Change your password.

How to Change Your Notifications

You can change your preferences for various academic, group, school, and personal notifications.

To do this, login to Schoology, click the dropdown arrow in the upper right corner, and choose Notifications. You can now choose the dropdown arrow in the box on the right to switch between On and Off.

How do I view my student’s grades?

There are two ways to view grades, depending on how much detail you’d like to have.

First, login to your Schoology account and switch over to your student’s account.

A.  On the Summary page, you will see their total current grade on the right hand side.

B.  If you would like to view their grades for each assignment, text and quiz they have taken, then:

1. Choose Grades from the menu on the left.
2. Select the class for which you’d like to view the grades.
