Parents Community

Parents Community Home About us Parents Community

The Catholic faith embraces the view that parents are the primary educators of their children (e.g., Code of Canon Law, 796 §1; Gravissimum Educationis, 1965; The Catholic School on the Threshold of the Third Millennium, 1977).

Cathedral Catholic High School therefore partners with parents to support their students' academic, extracurricular and spiritual pursuits.

Cathedral Catholic encourages parents to actively participate in the school community. There are several ways parents/guardians can become involved:

Parents in Prayer

Parents in Prayer gathers weekly during the school year on Tuesday mornings at 8:05 am in the St. Thérèse Chapel to pray for the Cathedral Catholic school community.

The Parent Association

The Parent Association is committed to Catholic education and exists to:

  • Promote the mission and philosophy of Cathedral Catholic High School;
  • Assist, support and provide parent input to the president and principal;
  • Foster cooperation among parents with the implementation of school policies;
  • Plan, organize and staff social activities to support the school and to welcome, expand and strengthen the parent community.

All parents of currently enrolled students belong to the association and are invited and encouraged to attend its monthly meetings. The Parent Association is run by appointed officers and appointed committee chairpersons. Cathedral Catholic’s President and Principal attend all meetings and work with the Parent Association to support the parent community. Parent volunteers are needed and appreciated throughout the school year for activities and events.

Faith in Action Groups

Faith in Action Groups need parent chaperones to attend the community outreach service trips throughout the school year.

Dons Familia

Dons Familia is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive space for Hispanic/Latino families. Parents meet once a month to discuss current and future school events. Dons Familia is dedicated to embracing and celebrating the Hispanic culture while working with student leaders to embrace the school’s four core values: Integridad (Character), Fe (Faith), Sabiduría (Knowledge) and Responsabilidad (Responsibility).
