Through the generosity of our alumni, families, donors and parish communities we raise funds that keep our tuition costs reasonable while providing all of our students, excellent teachers, coaches and moderators within a state-of-the-art facility. The tuition listed is for the 2022 – 2023 school year.

The purpose of the Tuition Assistance Program at Cathedral Catholic High School is to make Catholic secondary school education as accessible and affordable as possible to all students who wish to attend.
New incoming students who wish to receive a preliminary estimate of award qualification for the 2022-23 school year may submit applications on the FAIR APP website beginning September 7th, 2021, using 2020 income tax return documentation. Please use our school code of 118, and password cchs118.
2021 income tax return documentation must be submitted to FAIR upon completion, but no later than February 15th, 2022 and will be analyzed for any substantial variation to 2020 data.
The financial assistance deadline for all students is February 15th, 2022. Applications for Tuition Assistance submitted and completed prior to February 15th, including 2021 income tax return and 2021 W-2 documentation, will receive priority for award consideration. Applications submitted after February 15th may not qualify for aid, dependent on fund allocation to applications submitted and completed prior to February 15th.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship Program 2022-2023
The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship Program for incoming freshmen was established in 2021. These full four-year scholarships are intended to recognize and support students interested in attending Cathedral Catholic High School.
Cathedral Catholic High School presently awards 10 full scholarships to outstanding young women and men who are selected from the annual President’s Scholars Day. These scholarships cover the cost of tuition and required fees for the student’s entire four years of high school.
The President’s Scholarship
One female and one male student will receive a full four-year scholarship to attend Cathedral Catholic High School. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must graduate from a school in San Diego County or from an accredited home school program.
The ZAK Myers Scholarship
One student will receive a full four-year scholarship to attend Cathedral Catholic High School. The preferred candidate for this scholarship is a parishioner at St. Leo Mission Church in Solana Beach and actively involved in her/his Catholic faith. Priority is given to students demonstrating financial need and academic prowess.
The Mario Fierro Scholarship
One female and one male student from Notre Dame Academy and/or St. Therese of Carmel Catholic Church in San Diego will receive a full four-year scholarship to attend Cathedral Catholic High School. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student had to attend Notre Dame Academy for at least three years and/or demonstrate active involvement as a parishioner at St. Therese for at least three years.
The Tammy Niu Scholarship
One female and one male student of Polynesian descent will receive a full four-year scholarship to attend Cathedral Catholic High School. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must graduate from a school in San Diego County or from an accredited home school program.
The Catholic School Scholarship
One female and one male student from any Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of San Diego will receive a full four-year scholarship to attend Cathedral Catholic High School. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student had to attend a Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of San Diego from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The St. Michael’s Catholic School (Poway, CA) Scholarship
One student from St. Michael’s Catholic School in Poway will receive a full four-year scholarship to attend Cathedral Catholic High School. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student had to attend St. Michael’s from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Students interested in applying for one or more of the scholarships must have an “applied” status in the Ravenna application portal. Once applied in Ravenna, you will find a form in your portal that you may use to indicate which scholarship(s) you are interested in applying for. Students may apply for more than one scholarship, where qualified.
The next step will be to select a date for the student to attend one of four “President’s Scholars Day,” a signature campus event that involves members of the Cathedral Catholic High School community. We warmly invite students to experience the most complete expression of our faith community by attending in person.
President’s Scholars Day
The student must attend one of the designated President’s Scholars Days, from 8am – 11am:
- November 13, 2021
- December 11, 2021
- January 15, 2022
- February 12, 2022
The day will include the following:
- Alumni Sponsored Breakfast and Keynote Presentation
- Campus Tour
- School Presentation and Scholarship Requirements
- An onsite essay based on 1-3 prompts
- A Group Activity with CCHS faculty, student ambassadors and members of the associated student body
- Concluding Remarks and Question & Answer Session
What is being considered:
The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship Program is designed to offer the opportunity of a Catholic secondary education to those who will truly embrace the opportunity to blossom into their “best selves.” Consideration will be given to the “whole” student, and the scholarship day is designed to provide the student with various opportunities to let their gifts shine.
*Please note that students who participate in a President’s Scholars Day will not need to complete the step for the Student Interview. The President’s Scholars Day participation will be considered in lieu of the Student Interview.
Individual Scholarship Opportunities
The following scholarships will also be available to incoming freshmen for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Brian’s Scholars Scholarship
Two annual $5,000 scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who live south of Interstate 8 and demonstrate financial need. These scholarships are awarded in memory of Brian Bennett, a University of San Diego High School graduate, a Catholic school principal, and educational choice advocate. It was Brian’s dream to make Catholic education affordable to all. This scholarship was established with a generous donation from the Blickenstaff family. This recipient is chosen by the school administration.
Stumm Family Scholarship
This annual $4,000 scholarship honors the memory of Jim and Barbara Stumm for their commitment and sacrifice in providing a Catholic education for their three children and eight grandchildren. This scholarship is awarded to a student demonstrating financial need. This recipient is chosen by the school administration.
The McSweeney Family Charitable Foundation
The McSweeney Family Charitable Scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman interested in enrolling in the Cathedral Catholic Pre-Engineering Program and has selected the Introduction to STEAM class as an elective as a freshman. The student must demonstrate excellence in leadership, athletics, and academics. This $5,000 scholarship award is renewable each year provided the above criteria continue to be achieved and the student maintains a 3.0 grade point average. Members of TMFCF may interview applicants and the TMFCF Board of Directors will choose the recipient.
The Mary J. Morris Scholarship
This annual $10,000 scholarship honors the memory of Mary J. Morris. This scholarship is awarded to a student demonstrating financial need. This recipient is chosen by the school administration. Students may apply to renew this scholarship annually.
- Complete the Scholarship Application form in the Ravenna application portal indicating which scholarship your student is applying for.
- Unless stated otherwise, each student must submit a one or two page essay or a one or two minute video explaining how they meet the scholarship’s criteria (if stated), why they are worthy of the particular scholarship, and/or any other important details for the selection committee to consider.
- All essays should be submitted as a PDF document. A separate application and essay/video should be submitted for each scholarship. Students may apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for.
Scholarship winners will be notified with their admission decision in March. The deadline to apply for each scholarship is January 14, 2022 at 3pm.
