Katie Wilson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and History from the University of San Diego, where she attended on a full tuition vocal scholarship as a founding member of the USD Choral Scholars, an MA in Theater from Regent University, and an MFA in Film with an emphasis in Screenwriting from Regent University. She also has completed graduate work in music at Boston University, with an emphasis in Liturgical Music and Choral Conducting. A member of Actors’ Equity Association, the professional stage actors’ union, she has worked as a director, teacher, and professional actress for over twenty-five years. She is also a member of the Songwriters’ Guild of America. She has written two original musicals, A Little Princess (music and lyrics) and Snow White (book, music, and lyrics), which are performed primarily in youth theater companies around the country each year. She has performed extensively on stage in Southern California, most notably for Starlight Musical Theater, Moonlight Stage Productions, The Welk Resort Theatre, Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera, and Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities. Favorite stage roles include Bloody Mary in South Pacific, Jan in Grease, Ernestina in Hello Dolly, Maggie Jones in 42nd Street, Sister Berthe in The Sound of Music, Carrie and Nettie in Carousel, and Emma Goldman in the West Coast Regional Premiere of Ragtime: The Musical. She has directed over 100 shows, tour groups, industrials, and charity entertainment events for Southern California theater companies and businesses. She is honored to be a member of the Cathedral Catholic High School faculty, where she serves as Director of the Drama Program and Glee Club. Katie’s greatest joy is her son Kevin.
