Summer Programs

Cathedral Catholic High School offers a wide variety of summer enrichment and athletic programs for students in grades K – 12. Students will be challenged in a safe environment that is intellectual, physical, creative and most important, fun! Extended care is offered to families. Spend the day on the CCHS campus by taking a morning and afternoon session. Food services are open during breakfast and lunch. Sign up today!


Enrichment and Sports Programs
When: choose between (4) one week camps from June 18 – August 10, 2018
Time: morning session 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and afternoon sessions noon – 3:00 p.m.
Optional Extended Care: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The enrichment programs are structured to hone academic and critical thinking skills, develop self-confidence and foster motivation. These are week-long camps for students grades K-12, and include programs such as arts, music, drama, and more!

The sports camps are organized and coached by our experienced Dons Varsity Coaching Staff. The Dons Varsity Coaching Staff has over 100 years of coaching experience with the Dons and bring a wealth of knowledge about their respective sports. Each camp will cover the fundamental skills and strategies needed to be successful and allow each camper to improve and enjoy their respective sports.



Academic Acceleration Programs
When: June 18 – July 6 (no class July 4) and July 9 – July 26
*June 11 – July 6 (no class July 4) and July 9 – August 2 (8 week courses – P.E. / Spanish 3)
Time: 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

CCHS offers online courses in World History, US History, Economics, Government, Speech, Spanish 3* (dual enrollment with MiraCosta College) and P.E.* (*8-week courses). CCHS on-campus courses include various Math, Science (including Introduction to STEAM), and language courses. Students taking enrichment/advancement classes must meet the prerequisites before enrolling in the course, and are encouraged to meet with their school counselor for advisement. Registration and payment for summer school classes is completed online.

  • Dual Enrollment Spanish 3 through Mira Costa College.*
    • Only available to current CCHS Students.
    • This course counts as a full year of Spanish 3. Weighted credit.
    • Eight week summer school course  ($650 + $100 Reg Fee for full 8 week course)

  • PE (1 Semester = 4 weeks, 1 year = 8 weeks)

Physical Education students interested in online PE must attend an orientation prior to summer. Orientation dates are to be determined. Online PE is a eight-week course and includes weekly quizzes and activity log. Students are strongly encouraged to commit to a time line as not to fall behind. Only PE can be taken with another summer school year long course and can be taken for 10 PE credits (2 sessions).



Academic Remediation Courses
(CCHS Students only)

When: June 18 – July 6 (no class July 4) and July 9 – July 26
Time: 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This is for current CCHS students who may have previously earned a non-passing grade. The summer curriculum is designed to help students recover credits. Students will be advised by their counselors if they need to take classes for remediation. Registration and payment for summer school classes is completed online.
