Faith in Action means living our lives of faith with love, concern and compassion for others and our world. It is using our God-given gifts to live the call of Christ to build God’s loving kingdom here on Earth – one kind and thoughtful interaction at a time. We hope to have our students, faculty and staff nurture a determination to be a positive force for good.
Cathedral Catholic High School encourages putting our faith in action through a fully communal approach to service. The entire CCHS school community works together to serve communities near and far, build community at school and beyond, foster awareness for freedom and justice in the world, and awaken a sense of social responsibility. Students grow their faith by learning to see the face of God in others and to be the hands and heart of Christ to them.
CCHS has created a Service Hour Database for all students wishing to track their service. This is helpful for college applications and awards. Students do not need to log their hours into the Service Hour Database. It is completely optional as this is not a graduation requirement.
In order for volunteer hours to be accepted for the CCHS Caritas Award, please be aware that supervisory or organizational verification of the service must be included for all submitted service hours. Please use the following Service Supervisory Approval Form or any verification the organization where you volunteer is able to provide.
“Caritas” is a type of love that glorifies and reflects the nature of God. The Caritas Award recognizes students for this type of unlimited loving-kindness (caritas) towards others. CCHS students that have completed 100 approved hours of Faith In Action Service in a twelve-month period (May 1 - April 30) are eligible.
To receive this award, students must complete the application below by April 30. Students must record their service on the Service Records page.
