Spiritual Formation

Guided by the Gospels and the traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, the Office of Catholic Mission collaborates with parents in the spiritual formation of students.

The department also ministers to school employees and parents and works with area pastors and youth ministries in the shared mission of developing disciples of Jesus Christ.

I love that as a Catholic I get to star each class with a prayer. Every time I see a classroom filled with teenagers who quiet themselves almost immediately, bow their heads and pray with me, my faith grows by leaps and bounds.

- Kay Dunn, Science Teacher

At Cathedral Catholic, every activity, from the large-scale retreats to the small group prayers, teaches me that God is protecting me wherever I go. Every aspect of the experience, such as the chapel, the on-campus priests, and the offering of religious clubs and service, allows me to constantly feel His presence and love. At Cathedral Catholic, I am able to freely practice my faith knowing that every single student, teacher and administrator is right there with me.

Cathedral Catholic has made me a better man of God by showing me how to implement Jesus' teachings in my daily life. Through this, I have grown closer to God every day, and for this, I am thankful to Cathedral Catholic, and especially the Miles Cristi priests on campus.

Cathedral Catholic played an integral part in my faith formation. At CCHS, my love for my faith blossomed and helped me grow spiritually, allowing me to become a better Catholic overall. Having the privilege of taking part in a loving, caring, supportive and vibrant community allowed me to focus on Cathedral’s mission of building the kingdom and living God’s call

Following my time at Cathedral, I was inspired to live my vocation and serve as the Youth Minister and Young Adult Coordinator for St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The invaluable faith formation courses prepared me to navigate the world as a young Catholic woman and gave me the knowledge that we all have unique gifts and talents that together can make the world a better place. Roll Dons and God bless!

Cathedral Catholic allowed me to explore my faith by providing opportunities of daily Mass, retreats and religion classes. Cathedral Catholic also fosters an overall environment that encouraged growth in my faith and service for others

- Andrew Gunderson '22

Being at Cathedral Catholic helped me grow in my relationship with God and find others who share the same passion for the Church. There are so many opportunities that helped me to live out my faith and celebrate the sacraments such as daily and all-school Masses, Dons for Life and small groups with the Miles Christi priests.
