Pre-Engineering Program
Cathedral Catholic High School’s Pre-Engineering Program aims to equip students with the necessary skills for success in future science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs. Comprised of specialized courses and high-level academic content, the program offers students a comprehensive education.
Upon completion of eight required courses, graduating students receive recognition on their transcript as having “Graduated with Distinction in Engineering.” The program not only prepares students for the rigors of college-level engineering and science programs but also cultivates essential skills such as time management, scientific analytical thinking, problem-solving techniques, and technical knowledge.

The Pre-Engineering Program has taught me problem solving and scientific analysis skills that I applied on a daily basis as a lab intern at a biotech company during the summer of 2023.
- Jennifer Gurtler '24
Teaming up with a real architectural company through the program allowed me to see if it was really something that I wanted to do.
- Natalie Rubio '19
The program has provided me a pathway to see different examples of courses and concepts that I could see in my future.
- Carolina Ternero '22
The hands-on project-based approach of the Pre-Engineering Program gave me the opportunity to learn beyond the conceptual elements of engineering and practice a more realistic approach to addressing our problems, placing me far ahead of my peers in college courses.
