JUNIORS –

We are pleased to invite you to our College Admissions Case Studies Program which will be held on Thursday, April 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.It is designed to help our juniors and their parents learn more about the college admissions process through studying simulated students’ application cases, then making admissions decisions for a fictitious college.

Participants will check in at Registration for this program no later than 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th. They will then go to assigned classrooms where college admissions officers from across the country will work with groups of students and parents to evaluate the simulated applications of three seniors applying to a selective college. Participants will read student files, evaluate transcripts, test scores, essays, and letters of recommendation, and will act as the Admissions Committee to decide which applicants will be admitted. We believe this exercise will be extremely valuable in helping both parents and students better understand the complexities of college admissions decisions.

During the second part of the evening, students and parents will have the opportunity to attend a college fair with the college admissions officers. The focus of this program is primarily on the private college admissions selection process. The admission selection process for UC and CSU campuses will not be a part of the evening’s activities, as their admissions processes does not follow the same procedures as private institutions.

Due to space limitations, we are only able to accommodate junior students and their parents. We cannot allow for other siblings, students, or parents to attend. This event is specifically designed for the junior class and their parents. This program is only open to CCHS families.
