Washington, D.C. Experience

The Close Up Washington, D.C. experience is an adventure in a city brimming with exciting history and heritage. Using D.C. as a living classroom, you will journey through our nation’s founding to the most current issues facing our country!

Participating in Close Up’s program, you will have a once in a lifetime opportunity and be inspired as you explore famous monuments, world-renowned museums and hallowed institutions that define our past and present. Even if you have visited the nation’s capital before, your experience with Close Up will be unlike any other.

Students will:

  • Meet peers from around the country and participate in discussions and debates that expand and complement your worldview
  • See D.C. beyond the marble by visiting vibrant neighborhoods throughout the city
  • Visit D.C.’s must see sites, including Arlington National Cemetery to witness the Changing of the Guard
  • Debate current issues with Washington insiders
  • Visit the Capitol Building and meet your US Senators and Representatives
  • …and so much more!

The D.C. trip takes place June 10-15, 2018 with an optional weekend extension. Visit Closeup.org for more info.
