Each June, the International Thespian Festival is held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Membership currently stands at approximately 100,000 student members across 4,700 schools. ITS members are afforded many scholarship opportunities, and are awarded special honors upon their high school graduation.
Honoring student achievement in theater since 1929, the International Thespian Society boasts membership of over 2.3 million students since its inception. The International Thespian Society (ITS) is an honor society for high school and middle school theatre students. The Society is a division of the Educational Theatre Association.
CCHS has an active branch of the ITS, boasting over 30 members. A few famous ITS alumni include: Tom Hanks, Val Kilmer, James Marsters, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Stephen Schwartz. Festivals are held annually at the district, state and national levels.
