Global Leadership Winners

Global Leadership Connection –

The Global Leadership Connection – San Diego chapter, partnered with University of San Diego, was held this year on Wednesday, February 22. (for more information on the Global Leadership Connection, click on GLC.)

The conference brings together youth leaders dedicated to ethical conduct, academic excellence and compassionate service. Scholarships are then awarded to top participants. Students nominated to attend the conference are high school juniors dedicated to ethical conduct, academic excellence and compassionate service. They are respectful and appreciative of self, family, their school, their community and the world. Being true leaders in their school, they are students who:

  • take initiative
  • volunteer and give back
  • are elected or selected into leadership positions by their peers or adults
  • standout as someone that should be recognized for their tremendous leadership contributions

Cathedral Catholic High School had several students participate in the conference this year. Among them, Ashley Schafer was awarded the Jamie Harder GLC Female Female Youth Leader award, winning a $1,000 scholarship and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2017. Way to go Ashley!

Other winners were Alexa Attisha, Michael Madden and Tommy Twomey, all awarded the $100 GLC Ambassador Scholarship.
