CCHS Senior Receives Outstanding Service Award

Nick Hansen ’18 was awarded “Outstanding Service Award” from Miracle League of San Diego. Nick started volunteering as a buddy with Miracle League back through CCHS, but loved it so much he continued even after the requirement went away. He has been an Assistant Coach with the Pirates for the last 2 years.
According to Miracle League, “the Outstanding Service Award is given to volunteers that are current High School seniors with at least three years of buddy or volunteer experience. An ideal nominee is a volunteer that has developed a sincere relationship with their player or Miracle League as a whole. They demonstrate exceptional leadership skills on and off the field and are strong brand ambassadors.”
Coaches nominate and then the Board of Directors vote. Over the years Nick has developed a really special relationship with one of the players and we couldn’t be prouder.
