One of the best ways to introduce your 8th grade students to the Dons family is by welcoming them to “Our House.”  This year, we welcome your students to our campus for Dons’ Day! On November 2, we invite prospective students to experience the Dons’ life. We will showcase our CCHS program offerings with a mini-rally, tour of our campus, and visits to the classrooms.

Students attending one of our Catholic parochial schools in San Diego may RSVP and attend with their 8th grade class. 8th grade students attending other private or public schools are welcome to RSVP individually by contacting Cheryle Bui, in the Office of Admissions, at cbui@cathedralcatholic.org

January 22 Placement Assessment The CCHS Placement Test will cover Math and English. In the Math section, students will be assessed on material from pre-algebra through second semester algebra. In the English section, students will be assessed on passage-based reading comprehension tasks (fiction & nonfiction), as well as Language Arts (grammar, syntax, sentence correction, etc.). Our test will be prepared with 7-8 grade common-core standards in mind in hopes to target basic skills – we do not necessarily suggest special preparation as you might with a standardized test. Both sections will be scantron. There will be an optional English Challenge Test supplement for students who wish to be considered for 9th grade English Honors. This supplement will be a writing component, and will add an additional 45 minutes to the test.
