Daily Prayer

Today’s Prayer:

CCHS Community Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ,
Let my gifts change the world.
Help us Life the Call,
Build the Kingdom,
Veni, Sancte Spiritus.  Amen.

Thought Of The Day:

On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea. (Mt 13:1)

After a training period with Marines in the Sinai Desert a few years back, I had an opportunity to get away by myself to walk along the shore of the Sea of Galilee.  It struck me that Jesus probably spent so much time there simply because he enjoyed the beauty of the place.  Surely he didn’t design an elaborate mission plan each day to determine where to follow him wherever he went.  We might say that his power to influence others came from his “being” rather than from his “doing.”
We are surrounded by voices that tell us we are what we do, that success is defined by what we achieve.  We have experienced these success during this past academic year.  Now is the time to go for a walk, pick the place that brings you to the source of the moral and spiritual energy we all need to meet the challenges of a new academic year. Experience the flow of God’s love on this walk and may he strengthen your faith, hope and love.

Lord, may we be anchored in you so that our “being” is helpful to others.”

God bless you and keep you and your family safe throughout the summer months.
