Anatomy/PhysiologyStudents in grades 10-12 will engage in further exploration of the concepts associated with human anatomy and physiology. It is a rigorous second year Biology course for students interested in human biology, medicine and its related professions. Extensive reading and study are required. Participation in the cat dissection is required for completion of this course. OceanographyStudents in grades 10-12 are introduced to the geophysical processes and biological importance of the oceans. The disciplines studied in this course include physical oceanography (wind, waves, weather, tides and currents), geological oceanography (seafloor structure, plate tectonics and sediments), chemical oceanography (composition of sea water, chemical properties of seawater and common chemical reactions that occur) and biological oceanography (marine habitat, marine plants and animals, and biological productivity and energy transfer). |
As stated by a student: "I was very satisfied with my grade because the work I did to prepare my notes paid off. I would learn a lot more if I spent more time reading and looking at the chapter."
First Semester Final Exam Study Guides for Oceanography and Anatomy & Physiology are avaiable in "Resources" under Study Guides.
