AP Physics B (Yr)

AP Physics is an introductory college level course for students in gradres 11-12.  Students use a college textbook and study tpoics including kinematics, sound, waves, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, geometrical and physical optics, and atomic and nuclear physics.  Students perform lab experiments, compose scientific articles, deliver presentations and lead Socratic seminars.  The course prepares students for the AP Physics exam in May.  A $115 fee per exam will be collected during exam registration.

Students in grade 11-12 engage in exploration of the general concepts of physics.  In this introductory course the main emphasis is on the conceptual aspects of physics in both the lecture and laboratory sections of the class.  Critical thinking skills are learned through projects and investigative experience.  Extensive reading and study are required.

Each Student is required to have a textbook on the first day of class.
