On Tuesdays, the St. Patrick Catholic Church offers a soup kitchen which is free to the community. Roughly 100-200 people are served during each event. Kitchen helpers are often needed as well as “greeters.” St. Patrick Catholic Church is located in Carlsbad.

Volunteer at Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas and earn indirect service hours. Please only sign up for ONE Thursday per month in order to allow other students the same opportunity. Volunteers will be helping with chores around the shelter including: laundry, dishes, helping at the food bank, and anything else that may need to be done (please note that you may chose to wear clothes you do not care about getting dirty). Volunteers will also assist shelter staff in socializing the animals currently residing at the shelter. This opportunity is every Thursday, unless there is no school, from 4pm-5pm. Hey Freshmen, here’s a great opportunity to earn Christian Service hours and help those in need. There will be a food packaging event held at St James Church Hall on October 12 through Friends and Family Community Connection (FFCC) to package thousands of meals that will be shipped to needy recipients in Africa, the Dominican Republic and here in the U.S. as well. The Bike to finish MS event is coming up and volunteers are needed Saturday October 18th at Cielo Village in Rancho Santa Fe. Cyclists will be riding 100 miles and will be in need of smiling faces and encouragement by the time they reach Cielo Village. San Diego Center for Children is looking for enthusiastic, fun-loving individuals that want to give back while also having an opportunity to enjoy the festivities at the Wacky Wonky Walk & Kids Festival on October 25th. There is an age requirement of at least 16 years old. Volunteer duties include: event set-up and break-down, obstacle course management, kids zone, and other key tasks to ensure the Wacky Wonky Walk & Kid's Festival is a success! For the kids zone, they will be requested to complete an additional form requesting their social security number, date of birth and driver's license if applicable. Our volunteer coordinator will contact them for the additional informaiton. Come out to experience the Walk first hand and make friends with all of our other exuberant volunteers at the Wacky Wonky Walk! If you're available that day and interested in volunteering, please register at the link provided.
