It is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together in support, as well as raise money for research, programs, and services that will help those affected by Parkinson’s disease. The event will consist of a 5K on the bay, Medical Expo, Health and Fitness Village, Paws for Parkinson’s, Kids Zone, Classic Auto Show, Live Music, and much more. If any of the students at Cathedral Catholic High School would like to volunteer at this event, she would love to have them help out! Save the Date, Saturday May 9, 2015. Catholic Charities needs volunteers to help sort, pack and store food donations received during the annual Letter Carriers food drive. The event will take place at 1979 Main Street, San Diego 92113, between 2:30PM and 7:30PM. Volunteers can sign up for an hour or the entire afternoon. Parking is limited; participants are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation. Conveniently, the location is adjacent to the Barrio Logan trolley stop. Last year volunteers moved over 20,000 lbs. of food in a six hour window! Please let coworkers, family and friends know of this service opportunity. During 2014, the Catholic Charities Food Resource Centers assisted over 5,600 local households with food. This is the biggest food drive they receive each year and it will help keep the Food Resource Centers stocked during the summer months. For more information or to sign up please contact Lisa DuMolt at (619) 231-2828 x 221 or ldumolt@ccdsd.org.
