International Student
Admission Policies
Thank you for your interest in Cathedral Catholic High School.
In order for an international student to attend CCHS he/she must meet the regularly published criteria for admission. All students interested in attending CCHS must submit an admission application. The application may be submitted online.
- CCHS does not offer boarding or host families. Proof of guardianship must be submitted with the application.
- The student must come to CCHS as a resident in the home of a relative within San Diego. Residence must be approved by the school and must be secured before acceptance to CCHS.
- Each student must submit a score on the internet-based test of the English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) by signing up at ets.org, indicating the CCHS code #2939 and having the results mailed to CCHS.
- CCHS does not provide English as a Second Language (ESL). All students must be ready to matriculate into classes where only English is taught.
- The student will take the courses equivalent to the grade level at his/her own school. Each student will be evaluated individually. Students will not be admitted for one semester or one year.
- All applicants must provide an approved translation of their transcripts. Specific course titles must be given to general names (example: Algebra or Geometry for “Math”)
- No admission will be given until an up-to-date immunization record is submitted.
- CCHS is registered with Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and offers I-20 visas upon acceptance to the school.
