Summer School PoliciesSummer school policies are in addition to the 2009 2010 Student Handbook TextbooksStarting May 15th students may purchase textbooks online through MBS Direct at www.mbsdirect.net. Allow 7 business days for regular delivery. There is an additional charge for 2-day or overnight delivery. Registration PolicyCCHS Summer School is designed for CCHS students only. The deadline for registration is Friday, June 11. A late fee of $50 will be charged for registration after this date. AttendanceDue to the intense nature of Summer Session curriculum, daily attendance is required in all courses. Students are allowed only one absence, excused or unexcused, from class. Upon the second absence, excused or unexcused, the student will be dropped from the class and not receive credit. All absences must be reported to the school by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the absence. If a student is more than 40 minutes late to class, they will receive an absence for that day. Students will not be excused from school or allowed to be tardy because of the school ’s summer sports camps. Tardiness has an adverse effect on the learning process and will not be tolerated. Students are allowed only 2 tardies, excused or unexcused, to a class. Upon the third tardy, excused or unexcused, the student will be assigned one 45-minute after-school detention and upon the fourth, the student will receive 2 after-school detentions. If a student is tardy 5 times to a class, they will receive a referral and serve a 1-day in-school suspension. These policies apply to each session. There will be no tuition refund in the event that a student is dropped from a class. FacultyThe professional staff members are experienced and qualified in their respective fields. Instructors are members of the regular teaching faculty at CCHS or from San Diego community schools. CalendarAll classes meet on a daily basis, Monday through Friday. No classes will be held on Monday, July 5th in recognition of the Independence Day Holiday. Rules and RegulationsIn order to provide consistency between the academic year and summer session, the summer program will follow, as closely as possible, the rules and regulations as found in the Student Handbook. Some rules and regulations will be modified to reflect the condensed nature of the session, as well as the limited size of the staff. More specific rules and regulations will be mailed prior to the beginning of the session. Course CreditPre-9 Workshops are non-credit courses required by invitation only to fulfill admission prerequisites. The AP Bootcamp workshop is a non-credit course; all other courses provide credits for graduation or repeat credit needed from previous semester failure. Cancellation PolicyThe Summer School Director will consider the cancellation of the under-enrolled classes by Wednesday, June 16. Consequently, it is necessary to register well in advance of this date. A full refund will be made in the event a class offering is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. Withdrawal or DismissalA refund of tuition will be made in case of withdrawal before June 16. A refund is NOT available due to disciplinary dismissal from a course or withdrawal after June 16. The registration fee is non-refundable. Dress PolicyAll students are expected to follow the CCHS uniform as found in the 2009 – 2010 Handbook. Uniform items may be acquired at Mills 7510 Hazard Center Dr. #401, San Diego, (619) 220-8000. The CCHS school code is #8991. Approved items for purchase in accordance with our dress code policy may be found by visiting Mills website http://www.millswear.com and using CCHS school code to locate our school. CCHS CampusStudents are not allowed on campus except in conjunction with the programs for which they are enrolled; consequently, parents should make transportation arrangements for their child based on the beginning and ending times of their classes. |
