Summer School Policies

Dress Code

CCHS polo shirts (sold in the Student Store) with blue denim jeans or uniform khaki pants and shorts are the only acceptable attire for summer school students. NO skirts. Closed toe shoes and socks are the required footwear.

Attendance

On time daily attendance is the responsibility of each student. Sudden illness can occur, so parents are required to call the summer school attendance office, (858) 523-4001 by 9:00 on the date of the illness absence. Students must email the teacher for any make up work by 9:00 on the absence date.

Travel and appointments are unexcused absences for accelerated summer school courses, so if dates cannot be changed to accommodate required class attendance, the student is advised not to sign up for summer school.

If the teacher and Summer Principal deem a student excessively absent based on the amount of academic work missed within the session, (normally two missed classes), the student will be dropped from the course without a refund.

A tardy student may not be able to make up graded work due to the rapid pace of the summer course, even if the tardy is excused. Tardy students must stop in the Attendance Office for an admit slip before entering the classroom.

Books & Materials

A book and/or materials fee will be charged per course and collected upon registration, unless parental verification of book ownership is determined. Parents and students are liable for rental book loss or damage. A rental agreement is required with registration.

Grades

The Aeries Online Grade Book will be updated every few days during each session. Students and parents are asked to check academic progress frequently and discuss concerns directly with teachers as soon as possible.
