Theme
and Icon
The
Junior Class retreat is based on the previous Gospel passages. How do
you live, realize, the Kingdom among us now? The retreat dwells on our
expressions of the Kingdom through our actions - the Spiritual and Corporal
Acts of Mercy - and how these are expressions of our relationship to
Christ. Ultimately for us to recognize that each of us is essentially
called by God to be in a loving relationship to God's self and to others
in order to make God's kingdom a reality.
During
your retreat, you will be using icons as the focus of your base groups
and prayer/meditation. The icon for this retreat is that of a community
gathered in prayer. Through this icon we recognize the diversity of
God's Kingdom here on earth, and that we are called to use the gifts
God has given us to make this Kingdom a reality. Each base community
(small group) will be assigned an icon of a corporal or spiritual act
of mercy - methods of bringing God's Kingdom into existence in our daily
lives.
